Our first priority is to keep wild horses on the range. Sometimes it is not possible and we bring these horses to one of our local ranches where they are cared for and prepared for adoption. Our experts decide if and when it is appropriate to make a horse available for adoption.

ADOPTION BASICS
Horses are 1000+ pound social animals that live a long time and eat a lot hay.
Rescue and adoption is not for the faint hearted but those who love and understand horses.
The adoption process is designed to show that the horse:
- is going to a good home with hay, water and some fenced space to roam
- is going to good people who have some horse experience
- can be picked up in Northern Nevada
- will be safely transported
- will have routine exams and necessary care by an equine veterinarian
- preferably will have some horse/animal buddies
- will be cared for and loved for a long time
