Nevada state Department of agriculture
This section describes our legal agreement with the State of Nevada’s Department of Agriculture.
The Wild Horse Connection has a legal agreement with the State of Nevada’s Department of Agriculture since 2019. This agreement designates Corenna Vance the “Range Manager” for about 3,000 wild horses and burros in the Virginia Mountain Range (see map) of Northern Nevada.
Cooperative agreements
The agreements usually run from August 1st to July 30.
Coverage Area
Northern Nevada
Per the cooperative agreement, Wild Horse Connection is the Range Manager for the “Virginia Range” (map). The high-desert mountainous area is mostly privately owned land including the Tesla Gigafactory, Blockchains, Google Data Center, Switch Data Center, Walmart Distribution, etc. The area is roughly bounded by four highways/roads:
- Interstate 80
- Interstate 580
- Highway 50
- Highway 95
