Our first priority is to keep wild horses on the range. Sometimes it is not possible and we bring these horses to one of our local ranches where they are cared for and prepared for adoption. Our experts decide if and when it is appropriate to make a horse available for adoption. Here is a list of our formerly wild horses that have gone on to new homes.
Bay Filly
Koa DOB 6/12/21
Star, RF Pastern, LH Pastern
Meet sweet baby Koa, she is by far everyone's favorite, and for good reason. She is a little love bug, incredibly smart and has great disposition. She runs like a race horse, walks perfectly on a halter and prances through the obstacle course. She is the youngest of the foals but definitely not the smallest. She is a special girl and needs a loving home
Bay Filly
Bitsy DOB 5/19/21
Small Star
Meet Bitsy girl.....oooh it's so hard to post these amazing foals, especially her. She is my favorite. She has the right amount of curiosity, sass, and such a little lover. She absolutely loves to be brushed, which with a beautiful mahogany mane and coat who can blame her. Whoever adopts her is so very fortunate. She is halter trained, walks through the obstacles with ease.
Bay Filly
Hazel DOB 3/19/21
RH Pastern
Hazel has been with us since she was only two days old. She halters and has had vet care and does good with the ferrier. She is a great big sister to our younger foals, has been exposed to adult horses as well, she loves to run and play and be groomed. Oh don't forget about feeding time, she has been getting weened off foal milk replacer, loves her pellets and hay.
We first recieved a call about a foal being with the wrong band. When we went to check on her sure enough she was not with her mare. The team located her Sire Defiance Jr and Dam Ferrero, loaded her into the back seat of the truck and took her to her family. Her dam only being two showed no intrest in her as the team tried to encourage the reunion, it just was not ment to be. Hazel was the first of our 2021 foal rescues.
Strawberry Roan Filly
Genesus DOB 3/22/21
Star, RF Pastern, LH Sock
Genesus is has been with us since she was just four days old. She is Miss Independent and loves human companionship. She halters and has had vet care and does great with the ferrier. She is a great sister to our other foals. But she loves to be around the adult horses and her yearling adopted brother Ross. Genesus loves to run and play and be groomed. She does great with the halter and enjoys the obstical course. Oh don't forget about feeding time, she has been getting weened off foal milk replacer, loves her pellets and hay.
Our WHC volunteers first reported a foal that was all alone. We initally picked her up to keep until we could locate her family. The following day her family was located, her Dam Elektra was in very bad body condition and has some injuries. Due to the overall circumstance weighing the options it was in the foals best itnrest for survival to stay with us.

Ross DOB 3/25/20
Blaze, RF Sock, LF Sock, RH Sock, LH Sock
Ross has had two months of training. He can trailer loadm tiem pick up all four feet, fly spray, goes through obstacles, he has worn a saddle pad and been cinched up. He has been trailered to a few different places and did great. Ross has been ponied as well. He is a very confident horse, we could see him excel on the trails or in obstacle work. He has been exposed to tarps, shaving bags and flags. He has a very nice build for his ange and is a looker already! Ross will need an owner who is soft and confident that can set clear boundaries.
Ross dam was killed in a vehicle accident, but he stayed with the band. A newer mare in the band then lost her baby to a severe illness, but she took Ross in and kept him safe and part of the family.
But then Ross was found with a large, deep, infected puncture wound on his side. We don't know how it happened, but he needed to see the vet and have regular care of his wound. We made the hard decision to bring him in.
Ross was an angel throughout his care and has completely healed leaving a small scar.
Now that he is feeling better, he is showing his spunky side. He's playful and full of himself!
Bay Colt
Eley DOB 5/6/20
LF Sock, LH Pastern, RH Pastern
Eley and Jahan!
These boys were born just days apart. Both were orphaned when their dams were killed in separate vehicle accidents and they were too young to be left on the range.
Eley is discovering first touches and his curious side is really showing. Jahan is still a little unsure and stands behind Eley and watches these horse/human interactions.
These two are both just beautiful. Eley is stunning with his fine featured face and Jahan with his adorable ears and tiny star and snip.

Jahan DOB 5/10/20

Buckskin Filly
Calico DOB 4/1/20
Star, Snip, RF Pastern, LF Sock,
RH Coronet, LH Sock
Calico and Tio!
These band siblings were left alone (separately) when there was a major shake up in their band with a stallion, who apparently kicked out all the youngsters. Being older, we monitored Calico over a period of days to see if she would rejoin them or they would come back for her. During this time, Tio also ended up on his own. He was younger and thin. The decision was made to pick him up before he was lost forever. Just a couple of days later, when Calico was also starting to decline she was removed as well.
Tio was definitely glad to have his big sister at his side again!
We were definitely worried about Tio when he came in. He was lethargic, weak in general but especially his hind legs, and very disengaged. But he has come out of his shell and is quite the little spark!
These two are in full winter fuzzies. They both look remarkably like their sire, and will both likely lighten in color over time based on their family lines. (Their sire is very light gray with a black mane and tail, and an older sister is a lighter version of Calico.)
